It’s hard to believe now, but 40 years ago, the only people publicly selling retail marijuana seeds were about two dozen cannabis seeds companies based in Holland.

Until the first wave of marijuana legalization home growing started in North America in 1996 with the passage of California’s Proposition 215, Dutch marijuana seed companies dominated the seeds marketplace.

They controlled the High Times Cannabis Cup and marijuana media. People traveled from all over the world to Amsterdam, or risked going to federal prison, to order marijuana seeds from The Netherlands.

The strains those companies made were good at the time, but old school, usually with THC percentages below 20% and lacked phenotype consistency.

All those legacy Dutch companies other than Dutch Passion and Serious Seeds have given up on connoisseur marijuana strain breeding and are selling inferior garbage, mostly made by bulk producers in Spain.

One of the worst of the former marijuana seeds giants is Sensi Seeds. It’s sad to have to report that, because 45 years ago, the founder of Sensi Seeds (Ben Dronkers) was one of the coolest, most intelligent, passionate, and honorable people in the Dutch cannabis seeds industry. But Ben isn’t running the company any more, and whoever is running it is greedy and unprofessional.

That’s why we’ve heard hundreds of complaints about them, and ourselves experienced nothing but germination, phenotype consistency, and potency failures from their top strains such as Jack Herer, Black Domina, Mother’s Finest, Silver Haze, and Northern Lights.

When we repeatedly contacted Sensi Seeds as professional growers and as marijuana journalists, we were insulted and shocked by the blatant dishonesty, arrogance, and stupidity of their so-called customer support team.

We also note their apparent massive use of paid trolls and fake reviewers to boost their reputation, especially on their own website sales pages. The lack of quality genetics, viable seeds, ethics, and customer service are why we stopped buying from Sensi Seeds ten years ago.

When Germany legalized home marijuana growing a few months ago, German growers who believed in Sensi Seeds’ marketing mythology ordered thousands of seeds. Many of those growers got ripped off by Sensi Seeds. That’s not just the experience of German growers—all you have to do is look at marijuana seeds review websites that lack Sensi Seeds paid shills, and you see how bad they are. I now see that I am not alone with the terrible customer service. 2 weeks after I was told my order is on its way and has not been delivered they refuse to contact the delivery company and will not even consider a refund for another 2 weeks and then I guess there will be a load more stories and excuses.

Basically they are thieves and crooks.

Sadly I have to concur with many other pundits here…the customer service is arrogance and verges on contempt for the customer. Like many others I have purchased seeds on several occasions, with a success rate circa 70%. I believe that is not unreasonable. The last time however had 3 seeds that never did anything. I reported this to Sensi Seeds and was met with a wall of excuses. I never asked for anything, however I id expect them to accept that 3 seeds were duds. Not a chance, they did everything to avoid the fact that sometimes their seeds are duds. I will review my purchasing choices going forward. Remember customers, there are other providers out there.

Avoid this seed bank.. I ordered seeds back IN December 2020, and it is end of February and I still haven’t received my package. They keep replying on review sites that they will contact me but they do not. They lied and said they resent my package. They did not. They haven’t offered a refund. They don’t reply to emails, they lie in replies. If anyone ever asks me who to buy CBD oil from in the EU I will happily say NOT SENSI SEEDS. horrible service, product and customer service.

Bad experience ever!

I purchase from the website the seeds to ship to Italy. The logistic was terrible, I’ve never received the package even if I was pending for the delivery.

They send boxes without any tracking and aren’t able to inform regarding the state of delivery.

I asked for a refund but I have to wait the package go back to them before the refund.

I lost 2 months with them!!!

Do not give your money to them. They will just take your cash and ignore you, your packet will never arrive and you will spend a lot of time trying to reach them out in every way and no one will answer. Choose a more reliable company or use your money in a better way. Don’t waste your money. ❤️ I got confirmation email but when I check both account and order status they do not exist. I hope they will use the money they stole for medicine. Ciaooo

For what they’re charging, it’s a lot, and how long it takes to get the beans and their advertising you would want to believe they are going to send you what you pay for and it is going to be really good plants. This is not the case, they are living off a past reputation without having current good enough results. I could do better with cheaper seeds from a guy across the city who does males and females together to make seeds. Plus when you contact their customer service you find out they are not interested in customers or service but only in keeping your money. Do not give them your hard earned money, it is not worth it.

I bought 25 seeds in this shop and about 5 out of 25 only sprouted!! I germinated them correctly as instructed by one of their “experts” and still nothing!!! I tried to go in and ask for some money in return but instead I was met with rudeness. Will never buy from Sensi seeds again.

Sensi Seeds Are Thieves

Sensi Seeds was ok 30 years ago. Now they sell low-potency garbage with low germination rate. Their customer service is only for them keeping your money. Ben Dronkers should be ashamed of himself. The only good Dutch seed company still around is Dutch Passion.

They deducted money twice from my bank…

They deducted money twice from my bank account. I tried for 6 months to get a reimbursement for the 2nd withdrawal, with one response in between it’d get processed now, but money never came.

The seeds were garbage too. 1 friend (with previous growing experience) ordered around the same time but none of the seeds turned into something.

Don’t buy seeds here

This is quite possibly the worst seedbank I have come across. Germination doesn’t happen, you email for them to send more seeds that don’t germinate. You email again, you get no response. Customer service – never heard of it.

Money grabbing – read all TripAdvisor and Trustpilot reviews before thinking about this company.

It is using its name from 20 years ago to push sub-standard product. Company in decline unfortunately.

Most of the seeds I bought sucked

Most of the seeds I bought didn’t germinate and I’ve been growing for years and this is the 1st time I’ve had this issue and on a large scale. The ones that did germinate grew weird and stringy and just stopped when the buds had the week 3 flower look. After wasting weeks on germination I ended up wasting weeks growing them. Stay away from this company or waste your time you’ve been warned. They sent me replacement seeds and they will be going in the trash. Out of 8 seeds I popped I have 1 good plant, 5 duds and 2 plants I’ll have to toss out after months of work..

Extremely poor seed quality

Various seeds from Sensi to USA were purchased in 2023. Almost all failed to germinate in 2023. Some were saved till 2024 to try again. Same result. We know it’s poor seed quality, because seeds from other vendor have 90%+ germ.

Despite reaching out to Sensi Seeds…

Despite reaching out to Sensi Seeds regarding my disappointing experience with their product, the response I received only added to my frustration. It’s clear that Sensi Seeds’ customer service is more concerned with public relations than genuine problem-solving.

After expressing my dissatisfaction with the poor germination rate of the Jack Herer seeds I purchased, Sensi Seeds responded on Google Reviews, expressing a willingness to help. However, this so-called willingness to assist seems to be nothing more than lip service.

Despite multiple attempts to follow up and resolve the issue, Sensi Seeds has failed to provide any meaningful resolution. Their suggestion to contact Sensi Seeds Austria, while appreciated, does not absolve them of responsibility for the faulty product they supplied.

It’s evident that Sensi Seeds is more concerned with saving face than ensuring customer satisfaction. As a customer who has been let down by their lack of accountability and genuine care, I cannot in good conscience recommend their products or services.

Potential buyers beware: if you encounter any issues with Sensi Seeds, don’t expect genuine assistance or resolution. They may respond to negative feedback, but their actions speak louder than words.

As you can easily see, it’s not just an opinion that Sensi Seeds sucks, it’s verified by growers all over the world. Sad thing is, very few retail marijuana seeds companies make fire new strains with high potency, tons of terps, high yield, phenotype consistency, and new genetics. Only the seed makers you see favorably reviewed on Growing Marijuana Perfectly can be trusted, and the only Dutch seed company still selling new genetics and fire strains is Dutch Passion. The only North American marijuana seeds company we trust is Humboldt Seed Company, although they did a collaboration with Sensi to create California Haze–and none of the seeds from that strain germinated! Don’t waste your money on Sensi.
